Rich’s Patio Punch

July 21, 2017 by Gretchen Blazer Thompson

Rich ordered an amazing lemonade based cocktail when we went to lunch with his family at the Granville Inn a few weeks ago.  The cocktail was made with berry vodka and sparkling lemonade.  It was a good summertime drink.  So good that Rich and I immediately started to think about how we would put our own twist on it at home.

After trying a few different ingredients and proportions, we settled on vodka, sparkling water, lemonade, and fresh blackberries.  You can either throw a few whole blackberries in to keep the drink a pale yellow, or you can crush the berries to add a stronger blackberry flavor.  Either way, it’s delicious!

Rich’s Patio Punch

1 1/2 oz. vodka

2 oz. lemonade

2 oz. sparkling water

3 blackberries

a lemon slice

In a glass, 2/3 full of ice, add vodka, lemonade, and sparkling water.  Stir.  Either add whole blackberries, or crush them to add a stronger berry flavor.  Garnish with a lemon wedge.  Cheers!
