Garlic Chili Popcorn

September 8, 2017 by Gretchen Blazer Thompson

Rich and I got really into popcorn a few years ago. We started experimenting with different stove top popping techniques and different seasoning.  This one is hands-down our favorite.  It’s salty, spicy, and perfectly crunchy.  So do yourself and a favor and make a batch before your next Netflix binge!

Garlic Chili Popcorn

3 tablespoons canola oil

1/3 popcorn kernels

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon sea salt

3/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon chili powder

1/2 red pepper flakes

Pop popcorn according to Simply Recipes’ directions.

Once the popcorn is popped, toss with olive oil, salt, garlic powder, chili powder, and red pepper flakes, in the same pot you popped the popcorn in, until all the kernels are evenly coated.  Transfer to a large bowl, careful not to include the few unpopped kernels.  Enjoy!
