Okay, Okay, I know I said just last week that I don’t like pumpkin spice lattes. But then I discovered that if you make a homemade one with actual pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice it’s actually delicious. So truth be told, I like real pumpkin spice lattes, but I don’t like the fake ones that are overly sweet and don’t even have pumpkin in them.
This recipe is so easy. Just throw everything in the blender, blend for 30 seconds, heat the mixture and stir in some espresso or really strong coffee, and viola! Real pumpkin spice lattes!
Real Pumpkin Spice Latte
1 cup milk of your choice, I used coconut milk
1/3 cup pumpkin puree
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
2 shots of espresso, we have a Nespresso machine that brews both coffee and espresso and love it!
Put the milk, pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice, and honey in the blender. Blend for about 30 seconds, until everything is blended. Divide the mixture between 2 mugs and microwave until warm. Brew 2 shots of espresso and add one to each mug with the warm pumpkin mixture. Stir. Top with ground cinnamon. Enjoy!
Makes 2 lattes
The mixture will keep in the fridge for about 3-4 days. I like to make enough of the pumpkin mixture for a few lattes, so I can just heat it up in the morning and add a shot or espresso.
