Can you believe this weekend is already Easter? In some regards it feels like time has stood still for the past year, but then I stop and think about it and 2021 has been flying by. If Easter snuck up on you like it did me, I thought I would share a roundup of fun recipes, champagne suggestions, festive table and outfit ideas, etc. for this weekend. Or you could just drink champagne and eat chocolate eggs, which isn’t a bad idea either!
Easter Brunch. We’re going to my parents for Easter Brunch and I’m in charge of quiche. My friend made the recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction and it was great! I’m going to make that and add caramelized onions, artichoke hearts, spinach, and white cheddar. You could serve it with fruit and some bacon and call it a day, or make it super festive and make my Cinnamon Sugar Sour Cream Coffee Cake or Blueberry Cake to go with it.
Champagne. If you’re having brunch, why not serve champagne or sparkling wine? If your making mimosas, don’t buy expensive bubbly, Trader Joe’s brand is perfect! But if your drinking it on it’s own and want to feel fancy we love Gloria Ferrer Brut and Mumm Napa Brut, both of which are around $25 and widely available. If you’re looking for something more festive, try going to your local wine store and ask for help picking the perfect bottle. Half the fun of drinking champagne is the beautiful flutes! I think these, these, these, and these are all pretty and festive.
Festive Table. Looking for a few things to make your table more festive? Start with some beautiful flowers – tulips always look like spring and hydrangeas are always a favorite! I love to buy multiple bundles and then put them in different sized vases. Then add a few serving pieces like this Spode cake plate and serving tray that both have rabbits on them. I also love (and own) this tablecloth – it looks like spring without being Easter.
What to Wear. Easter is usually the time to break out spring dresses and skirts, but this year feels a little different. Instead, I love the idea of white pants like these or these white jeans; with a button up like this one or this one; and then top it off with this linen blazer. If you want to wear a dress, I bought this one in green recently and love it! Just know it runs a little big.
Whatever you do, don’t forget to make my Cocoa Krispy Treat Nests for dessert! Have a great weekend!
