This Mother’s Day is a really special one because it’s my first one being a mom. The thought behind the day is so special – show mom how much you love her and that you notice everything she does for you all year. I thought it would be fun to put together some ideas for delicious treats and presents for the occasion.
Baked Goods. Why not bake mom something delicious like my Salted Brown Sugar Blondes, Almond Cake, or Blueberry Cake. I like to cut blondies and put them in a clear cellophane bag with a beautiful ribbon. It instantly makes them look special! Or buy her a pretty platter and give her the baked goods on the patter. I love this one. Plus, baked goods always taste better when someone makes them for you!
Wine. Good wine is one of my favorite gifts to get and to give. People tend to not buy themselves the good stuff, so getting it as a gift is so fun. I love going to my local wine store and asking someone for help – don’t be shy, they know what they’re talking about! Tell them how much you want to spend and what your mom’s favorite type of wine is and they should be able to help you pick out something perfect. Such a fun thoughtful gift! Or you could always get her this beautiful champagne bowl!
Plants. May is the perfect time to give mom a beautiful plant. Why not buy something and repot it in a pretty pot like this one or this one? Or give her something she can plant in her yard. If she doesn’t have a yard, a bouquet of flowers is always appreciated.
Gifts. I’ve also rounded up some gifts for mom, like this bag which is perfect for farmer’s market runs and my current favorite baking book! Click through the widget below to see all my picks for mom.
