About a month ago I was watching The Today show and they had a food segment where they were talking about a company that makes seasoned pretzels. They sounded amazing! So amazing that I got online to buy them only to find they were $16 for less than a pound and you still had to pay for shipping. No thank you!
Since then I’ve been obsessed with seasoned pretzels and I’m glad I am because I came up with an amazing recipe. These would make the perfect addition to a cocktail party, cookout, snack come football season, really they’re perfect anytime!
Seasoned Pretzels:
- 1 14-16 oz. bag hard sourdough pretzels
- 3/4 cup canola or vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried dill weed
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons lemon pepper seasoning
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (more or less to taste)
- 1 Tablespoon honey
Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Breakup pretzels into bite size pieces and put into a gallon size Ziploc bag. In a small bowl mix the oil and seasonings with a fork. Pour the oil mixture over the pretzels, seal the bag and shake to evenly coat the pretzels with the oil mixture. Spread pretzels on a sheet pan with edges (so the pretzels don’t slide off). Bake for 1 hour total, taking the pan out of the oven and stirring every 20 minutes.
Let cool and enjoy!
I don’t know how long these pretzels will last because they never make it past a few days in our house… and that’s using self control!
